I have been remote controlling my office PC from home using UltraVNC. It worked, but a lot of fiddling to set it up, and it was very slow even over a broadband connection. LogMeIn was set up in a couple of minutes, and the performance and ease of use just blew me away. I am seriously considering the Pro version.
