GoBack 4 has stopped hard drive boot

I have used GoBack for years. I have other installations working OK under XP Pro. But the latest installation on a low-grade Pentium machine with a clean XP Pro installation is a complete screw up as it blocks boot from hard disk. I cannot find any way to uninstall it [Symantec provide no help re forcing XP uninstallation!] I have reformatted disk and reinstalled twice = same result. I can however boot around GoBack from a special floppy so I know XP is fine. I am appalled at the way Symantec is letting what was a great product go downhill.

Verdict

Although the System Restore utility built into Windows XP is nice, Norton GoBack 4.0 delivers a lot more control and flexibility, making your PC almost glitch-proof.
