Too many updates require Windows restarts


I sometimes decline to restart the PC following an update (because it's convenient). This may have caught me out with the recent Gibe virus -- I started receiving infected emails from Sept 18th but McAfee only started detecting them on the 20th after a Windows crash forced a reboot !

Verdict

McAfee VirusScan 7.0 is a top-notch virus killer for first-time users, but unless you use Outlook Express or Eudora, VirusScan 6.0 users won't need to upgrade.
