McAfee VirusScan 8.0 review

Wednesday 5 July 2006, 12:55 PM

Not recommended for home users

Too complicated for home users, set up for email if you wish to use the spam filter is mind-boggling.
Disable out-bound scanning if you wish to send mail.
Try something wonderfully user friendly such as Zonealarm Security suite which I will give *********** stars. Mcafee 0 stars.
Glues up your system, grabs and vanishes necessary files--
Big No-No
Do Mcafee software engineers ever take any notice of these comments????

Verdict

VirusScan 8.0 sports a trimmer profile, a simpler interface and fast performance, but support is more of a hassle than before.
