User review

This suite of applications is the latest version of Apple's Office suite, which on the contrary does not have an equivalent to Entourage as it has Mail, but a new application called "Numbers" emerged. This application could be called a user-friendly Excel application, with nice designs. But first of all, the fact that one has to spend 55 more Pounds again, just to get image editing function in lets say an calculation application, is simply outrageous. Secondly the "Pages" application does not initially remember window positions, has just very few preferences options and Numbers is everything but user-friendly. This does not mean it is not nicely and simple designed. Rather does it mean, the functions are very poorly integrated, though they are the most essential parts of such an application. Thirdly Numbers is missing a row and column skipping/selecting short cut, and does not have the function to apply a given formula to pre-entered numbers. But overall each application on it's supplied in the maybe just newly bought Macintosh, have very powerful capabilities especially in the editing tools.

Verdict

Although Microsoft Office 2007 offers deeper features, particularly for number-crunchers, Apple's iWork '08 is a strong Mac productivity package and a pleasure to use.
