Written by the leaders in the field
It's a good book, the pionering work Adam Young did under Moti Yung first hit the net around 97 after their paper on Kleptography was given at EuroCrypt. It was a bit of a wake up call to a lot of people about the hidden problems of of the shelf security software.
When it was published it was the only book of it's type outside of scientific journals, so is not comparable to other works directly.
It's a very practical book and explains the concepts involved very well. It also provides enough information for even a year 1 undergraduate to produce working code ;)
It's been around for a little while now and is (for a very fast moving field of research) a little dated.
However I would thoroughly recomend it to team leaders of programing teams involved with security products and to other coders and managers working in that field. At the very least it will give you an insight as to how people might just slide a very deliberate insecurtiy through a code review...
