Dated and clunky
I used Eudora for four years before deciding to switch from a POP-based account to a more feature-rich IMAP email account. Eudora gets the job done with POP, but feels very clunky with IMAP. Password management is poor and I got tired of keying in my passwords. HTML-based emails don't upload to IMAP servers properly, and don't import into Mozila Thunderbird either -- in both cases the underlying HTML is shown in the body of many emails when viewed with other clients or with Webmail. The tabbed interface of Eudora is clunky to use, and the UI is looking very outdated these days.
Personally I recommend Mozila Thunderbird, which offers a fresh clean interface, plus it has much better IMAP support, including the IDLE command so emails appear in your inbox as soon as the server receives them (often within 5 seconds of the sender hitting the Send button!) -- assuming the server supports the IDLE command (Mailsnare does for example).
Eudora has too many years of underlying legacy code and could do with a rewrite. There are much better alternatives these days, so Eudora is best avoided.
