OpenOffice.org 1.1 review

Thursday 20 November 2003, 8:12 AM

Cross-platform, open standards & FREE!

Highly functional.
Migrating from MS Office entails little or no effort at all.
I know! Because we have done it already in our company employing 100 employees.

Nothing cannot be done in OpenOffice.
If it is not there, it can be configured/programmed.
Now, that is POWER!!!

Documents format use open standard. NO MORE VENDOR LOCK-IN!
Can read & write MS Office files.
And best of all, it is CROSS-PLATFORM! (runs on Windows, Linux, etc.)
That is FREEDOM!!!

Verdict

This feature-rich, flexible and, above all, free office suite is much more than a refuge for the anti-Microsoft tendency. It works, it’s reliable and it’s useful.
