OneNote 2003 Beta 2 review

Monday 24 November 2003, 10:15 PM

Search capability makes this VERY powerful

I've been using OneNote on my laptop for a week and am seeing lots of uses. I do NOT have a tablet, but am a good typist. I love the ability to find ToDo items within a specific section or across the entire notebook, this can be very powerful. The ability to create summary pages and export to Web pages looks very easy and powerful, great for sharing notes.

The price in the USA for existing Office users is $79, which is a reasonable price, maybe even very good. But the full price of $179 is too much.

Verdict

Microsoft's OneNote is a unique and innovative application that can provide a workable alternative to the day-to-day use of pen and paper. It could be the 'killer application' for which the Tablet PC has been waiting.
