Office 2010 Technical Preview: a first look
Published: 13 Jul 2009
The versions
Microsoft has cut down on the number of versions of Office 2010 — primarily to remove confusion. That leaves us with five versions, two for volume licensing customers and three for home users and small businesses.
Office Professional Plus is targeted at companies that make Office part of their workflow, while Standard is your everyday productivity suite (with a touch of collaboration). Home users get a relatively unchanged Home and Student release, while a new Home and Business version gives small businesses access to Outlook 2010 (though not to Access, for some reason).
