The good news is that unlike Word 12, Excel 12 and PowerPoint 12, Outlook 12 has not been redesigned. The bad news is that the changes to Outlook are too few. There's a new To Do sidebar and improvements to search, but the familiar toolbar and three-pane view remains. Be sure to read our Outlook 12 (beta 1) preview for more details.

What is the largest number of "speed access", "update check", "camera download" and whatever other background programs you have ever seen running? Of those, how many did you really need?
