	Given the staggering amount of software available for Windows, one might expect to find the same abundance for Windows Mobile. Although there are indeed several thousand third-party programs for Microsoft's handheld OS, it's a drop in the bucket compared with the 20,000-plus written for Palm OS.

This is not to say that software available for the Palm platform is better, only that there's more of it. And more software means more potential functionality.
