Pinnacle Studio 9 review Editors Choice Award

Monday 21 August 2006, 4:17 AM

It has it's ups and downs

I purchased Studio 9 about 2 years ago and didn't have many problems. My computer was stolen and I had to purchase a replacement disk. Everything was okay until I upgraded. Each time I have upgraded the program, it gets worse. Support helped me through the first time and then I started getting burned failed again. Eventhough I have always used the same media DVD+R, I had to change to DVD-R to get it to burn. Most of my DVDs are about 20 minutes long. Then I got one that was 130 minutes after wasting about 10 disks I finally got it to burn on a DVD-RW and DVD+RW. Never had the crashes, just burning failed. It's easy to use but they need to work out the bugs before offering a new upgrade. I spent a lot of money on the new upgrade and still can't seem to get them to find out why I can't use things I have purchased.

Verdict

A lot of thought has gone into making the latest version of Studio as attractive as possible to newcomers and existing users alike. Don’t expect miracles from the new toolset and you’ll be more than happy with it.
