Pinnacle Studio 9 review Editors Choice Award

Wednesday 3 May 2006, 4:41 AM

Very good if reliable, which it IS NOT!

Terrible problems with audio-video sychronisation. Spent hours and hours doing various analog transfers only to have a few video frames jump which threw out the audio synch for the rest of the item. This doesn't always become apparent until after all the editing is done and even until the DVD is burnt. Happens on AVI as well as MPEG files. MOST annoying and I cannot get any info from the trouble shooter or anywhere else. Will most definitely switch to a different program and hope that the Movie deluxe transfer box will work with it. It came bundled with a new HP Pavilion. Why, I don't know.

Verdict

A lot of thought has gone into making the latest version of Studio as attractive as possible to newcomers and existing users alike. Don’t expect miracles from the new toolset and you’ll be more than happy with it.
