InDesign 2.0 review Editors Choice Award

Tuesday 8 February 2005, 2:18 PM

It can't do footnotes!

I am a long-time user of Corel Ventura. I know what I want my publishing software to do, and if I am going to be convinced to use something else, it should at least match the features.

Adobe claims this is their "Quark killer". That may be so, but it is not their Ventura killer.

Having tried the program, I like its stability, but it is still wanting in the features department. I don't know why they don't have a tag system to insert footnotes and index references in the text like Ventura. It is a great idea from Ventura that allows you incredible flexibility.

The only reason I am even considering leaving Corel Ventura is because the software support is minimal and they don't look like they will be supporting the product any longer.
