IBM Deskstar 120GXP review

Monday 26 January 2004, 10:24 PM

Bad sectors after 15 months

You can see why they dropped the warranty from 3 years to 12 months. This one developed bad sectors after 15 months. During that time it had mostly been powered 24 hours a day, which generally afflicts minimum stress on a system, and has a UPS so no nasty glitches.

Very dissappointed. Now I don't trust the drive and must look for a replacement. Though I back up what I can, a total drive failure is not a prospect I want to face.
