Good workhorse but noisy fans


Works great but intermittent high fan noise. Normally sounds quiet and then fan starts. Ambient temp is 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Maybe ambient temperature too hot. Felt fan's output air and it felt hot. Put temp sensor on exhaust. Got +95 degrees. Put area fan in front of server and it helped. Hope this helps anyone else out there.

Other than limited internal storage, Dell has made few compromises on the specification of the 1U PowerEdge 1850, the end result being a server that can support a wide range of enterprise applications.
