AMD Athlon 64: the benchmarks

The long-awaited 64-bit processor based on AMD’s Hammer architecture is finally available for desktop PCs (manufacturing problems delayed the desktop Hammer launch by about nine months). The full Athlon 64 range comprises four chips:
Desktop processors
AMD Athlon 64 FX-51 2.2GHz, dual DDR400 interface, 1MB Level 2 cache, Socket 940 ($733)
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2GHz, single DDR400 interface, 1MB Level 2 cache, Socket 754 ($417)
Notebook processors
AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2GHz ($417)
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8GHz ($278)
