All Macintosh Owners Beware!

ALL MAC OS (9) or (10). OWNERS BEWARE!!
I have only had my DELL 5100cn for about a month now and I have cranked out quite a few prints off of it without a problem, but as I said I have only had it for a short time. I think the printer is a good value and seems to be a small workhorse, However!! I am a loyal Mac. owner, I have been working with them for over 8yrs now. I build and maintain Web sites as well as do graphic arts and printing, I was told by the DELL sales people after a long conversation that the 5100cn was 100% compatible with Macintosh and I wouldn't have any problems at all. The software that came with it was also supposed to be 100% compatible. Well, that was far from accurate. If you are using a Mac. you won't be able to use your duplexer or the MPF. and as you can imagine that will open up a whole variety of issues. The only thing that works off of the software CD is the Printer Driver, but that only seems to work if you connect through USB (NOT ETHERNET) I however like the printer so I purchased a Windows based computer just to use as a printer server. I just think Dell salesman should tell people the truth about the compatibility of the printer. THE DELL SUPPORT TECH I TALKED TO LAST DID! (NOT COMPATIBLE)
