Dell 5100cn review

Tuesday 9 August 2005, 3:30 PM

Good printer, but have experienced issues

Although this is a good printer at a really good price I purchased 3 for my company and have had problems with each of them.

Ink seems to run out quicker than I expected - OK I know their stats say 5% coverage and you'll get 8000 / 9000 pages per toner, but it never seems like this.

One of our machines has a recurring problem. Dell have been out and fixed it 3 times which is good, but the printer is 6 months old. What will happen once the standard warranty runs out in 6 months time?? I think there is a flaw in this printer - Dell just want to continually fix it (not replace) it.

Another printer has just flashed up that the imaging drum needs replaced. This was meant to last 30000 pages, we have only done 17000 with this printer.

This printer looks a good deal - but don't say I didn't warn you !!
