Samsung SCX-4100 review

Friday 23 September 2005, 12:04 PM

An absolute bargain! Excellent value for money, great functionality.

I bought mine from PC World for £49! Yes FORTY NINE POUNDS! On a 50% off voucher deal after they'd already reduced it to £99. Even at full price I wouldn't have been disappointed. Printing and copying functions are easy to use, but as per the review, scanning documents isn't too straightforward & can be frustrating. The resultant scans are of very high quality though. However, most users don't tend to scan very often, and I wouldn't let this small issue put me off recommending this device 100%. As you'd expect from Samsung, build quality is great. Better in fact than many of the more expensive competition!

Don't be a brand snob, this is a great piece of equipment, well built, reliable and cheap to run. It saves space by integrating 3 devices into 1 box and also reduces the amount of cabling needed to run 3 devices. All you need to buy extra is a USB printer cable & some paper!

Go buy one today.

Verdict

Samsung's SCX-4100 is an economic choice for small-job printing, copying and scanning, but Mac users or those who need to fax must look elsewhere.
