Samsung CLP-500 review

Monday 3 May 2004, 11:37 AM

Yes, it's very good BUT..........

I needed a colour laser to print technical documents for a team of engineers. I was going for the Minolta 2500DL -- until I saw the specs and read reviews for the Samsung . For similar money you get a proper paper tray, an extra multi-purpose tray and duplex built in -- no contest!

Results, ease of use and speed are all very acceptable.
BUT - I keep reading reviews as well as Samsung's own literature that says it's "whisper quiet": well it's not - it produces a pulsing/chugging noise which is not smooth and is most unpleasant (this is my second example).

Technical support - FORGET IT - unless you want to wait 3 weeks (literally)for a call back.

So if you upgrade to XP SP3 you can't uninstall Internet Explorer, I'm quite sure I'm having a Deja-vu feeling about MS preventing people from uninstalling Internet Explorer in other Windows products.
