Poor customer service and poor build quality
I bought an Acer laptop in November 2003 and I have to just warn anyone that is considering buying ANY Acer product is that the customer support is poor...very, very poor. The support line that this article writes about is charged at 50p and you will NEVER get through to someone. The E-mail support yields similar results and if anyone ever does reply it usually takes about a week if not longer and even then they can't actually process any repairs. They can only give you technical support and will usually refer you to the telephone support line. It's just poor! Build quality is also poor. I got an Acer Tablet PC C111 which cost me over £1300 and whilst the hardware itself has been fine, the build quality has been awful, the hinges are always the first to go. First the hinge on the LCD screen went, then the catch which holds the screen closed broke, now the Firewire port doesn't work...and it's taken about 2 weeks so far to get through to anyone and yet they still want me to ring them to get it fixed. I don't think so!
