Sony after-sales ... what after-sales?

Sony's computer division after-sales service over the last few years has been consistently atrocious. I'm after a 30Gb (minimum) drive for a Sony Tr1mp … looks normal but odd thing about it is that it's the only one I've ever come across which requires the connector to be male … the strip on the hard drive is female! 3 emails to different parts of Sony now not received a reply in over 2 weeks; ringing them up they give you suppliers who only stock standard drives, don't appear to understand the drive is abnormal. I do not know if it is possible to buy a replacement hard drive for one that died 3 months out of warranty. No doubt easy to buy another whole machine.

Verdict

The VAIO TR1MP is a touch too diminutive to serve as your primary computer, but it's an excellent supplementary system for frequent travellers.
