NEC Versa T400 review

Sunday 18 July 2004, 2:34 AM

Average performance but meets needs

This is the only tablet PC so far that has reasonable size & weight -- the others are all too big and heavy.

Battery life is limited -- 5 hours is needed but the unit only provides half of that.

An industrial (or ruggedised) version or customised transparent case that facilitated use outside of the office environment would be useful.

Verdict

The slate-style Versa T400 is the thinnest and lightest Tablet PC we've seen so far, but this 933MHz Mobile Pentium III-M system's performance and battery life both need to improve.

Review Although it's missing some features (chiefly HSDPA and GPS), Nokia's E63 is a well-thought-out, ergonomic and affordable smartphone.
