The best Tablet PC yet -- overall a good machine

Battery life is about 3 hours in my hands -- not too bad, but could do better. Wireless antenna and VGA socket cover are flimsy. Stylus/screen interaction very good, as is the handwriting recognition.

Lacking a full PCMIA card slot for use of a standard GPRS card, or an IrDA output for linking to a mobile. Three USB ports very good, and the CF would be useful if I had anything to plug in!

Overall a nice machine that's supplanted my laptop -- just because it's more portable and suits my working better. Need two batteries and a 12V charger though to make it work the full day in the field.

Great with GPS input, as mapping/logging tool.

Verdict

The slate-style Versa T400 is the thinnest and lightest Tablet PC we've seen so far, but this 933MHz Mobile Pentium III-M system's performance and battery life both need to improve.

Review Although it's missing some features (chiefly HSDPA and GPS), Nokia's E63 is a well-thought-out, ergonomic and affordable smartphone.
