Dell Latitude D600 review

Sunday 4 June 2006, 8:23 PM

Rubbish Keyboard and touchpad

Having used a IBM Thinkpad for years, when it came time to replace my employer gave me Dell D600.

First thing that stuck me was the keypad. Whereas the IBM was direct and solid, the D600 feels cheap and spongy.

The biggest problem though is the touchpad. Way to sensitive and as a result cursor jumps all over the place when typing. I have to manually disable it at work where I use a mouse.

In summary, feels cheap, but at least I have not paid my own hard earned money for it.

Verdict

Dell has done a marvellous job redesigning its corporate thin-and-light notebooks, making the new Latitude D600 a wise choice for companies looking to upgrade their laptop fleets.
