Another one that overheats

Bought my 5150 secondhand (it was just over a year old at the time) It has always overheated even when on a hard surface - but on one occasion when I had it on my lap it heated up so much in 10 minutes that it burnt my leg - I still have a scorch mark left on my skin 3 months after the event. Despite the overheating it was fine for what I used it for - mostly MS Office and Internet. However last night it stopped recognising the battery charger intermittently. Now it has started spontaneously powering down sometimes within a couple of minutes of me booting it up. I guess the can of compressed air is now my only solution (I've used another fan and tried blowing into the air outlet to free any dust)
