Good but need to run on hard surface

I got this as a factory refurb. two years ago. Since then it has been my main computer for both work and play and has been a good reliable machine.

However, as others have noted here there is an issue of temperature. The air inlet is on the bottom of the machine, so if you use it on a soft surface, such as a lap, it *will* have problems. Dell insist that it is a notebook PC not a laptop. Hmm. Things are made worse because Dell for years have had a policy of making their laptops, sorry notebooks, run hot anyway, with no way to change the thermal settings.

The tip about blowing air into the vents to clear out dust was a good one, thank you.
