Dell Inspiron 5100 review Editors Choice Award

Monday 24 July 2006, 1:32 AM

Great desktop replacement for the price

I bought this laptop new about 3 years ago for around $900. The only upgrade I've made since has been to add 500 MB of RAM. It's been great when I'm on the go, although it is a bit heavy and the battery lasts only about 3 hours. It runs almost all of the latest software available, including Adobe CS products. This laptop has never crashed, nor overheated. I always put it away in its case when not in use, so didn't have the dust problems others reported. The keyboard is now a bit worn, and the screen could be better under certain conditions, but overall it's been a great machine (great integrated speakers, too).
