Dell Inspiron 5100 review Editors Choice Award

Thursday 22 September 2005, 2:51 PM

Run, don't walk away from Dell!

Read all reviews carefully before buying a Dell Inspiron 5100! The fan cooling (actually, the "lack of" cooling system) is a major problem. Even worse is the need to replace the motherboard in such a short period of time. It seems that the tech support guys walk you through a maze of "try this, and see what happens" before they tell you that it will cost you an arm and both legs to replace the motherboard on an already expensive system. This was my first Dell and will definitely be my last!
