IBM ThinkPad X24 review

In 2006 an absolute bargain

Often sold for $450 new sealed boxed on ebay (2006). An absolute bargain lightweight subnotebook with a fast PIIIM 1.13GHZ processor (more akin architecturally to the Pentium-M than the P-4) and 3-4 hour battery. Lacks wireless/bluetooth, easily added via USB Dongle or Bluetooth. Docking stations with USB2 etc are less than $100 new from IBM and others.

A Match for the latest and greatest X40 (and with a much better keyboard I have used both!)

Verdict

The X24 is an accomplished ultraportable that combines good build quality, good ergonomics, decent performance and long battery life. There are some niggles, but on balance the X24 stands up well.

Review Although it's missing some features (chiefly HSDPA and GPS), Nokia's E63 is a well-thought-out, ergonomic and affordable smartphone.
