Nice Router as long as you don't use VPN!

I brought this router, bot for the wireless capabilities, but for router performance. Sadly, as I discovered, this router does not fully support VPN passthough. On my home network, I access my company using one type of VPN, and my partner accesses another company using a different type of VPN.

With Home Working pretty much the norm, I would consider VPN to be standard requirement of any new router. I replaced this router with the very capable Netgear WPNT834, which does support VPN.

I find this review pretty useless! Most reviews hark on about wireless features, when they should also be reviewing the basics, like routing perfomance, Firewall Security, VPN, Router Administration. No everyone chooses a router because of wireless. I only use wireless for guests when they stay.

Don't touch this until they release a firmware version that supports VPN Passthough.

The scores I've given are based on routing capabilities, not on its' wireless features

Verdict

Netgear's Draft-N solution is the best in terms of looks and performance, but interoperability and backwards compatibility are still not guaranteed.
