Solved coverage in our three-storey house
Even using an old Linksys 802.11b USB in the desktop in our loft room.
With the matching Pre-N desktop card (a PCI cardbus and network card) we are consistently seeing speeds in the 54Mbps + area across the ground to 2nd floor divide which gives network response on a par with the hardwired PC next to the router.
Works well with D-Link Ethernet ADSL NTU and Belkin's built-in parental block works well without impacting PC performance.
It is a tad expensive ... but costs less than getting BT in to wire the house...
