Good looking, bad working

I had an Apple AirPort BaseStation which worked flawlessly for years but finally conked out - so rather than replace it with its expensive successor, I picked up the Netgear for £50. It's going back this weekend because the wireless connection is unstable and slow. I use it with my two Macs and an Xbox 360, and downloading anything over Xbox Live is just rubbish - constant need to reset everything and relink, and then the connection speed is terrible. I'm buying an Airport Basestation again!

Verdict

The DG834G combines five network functions in a single box — ADSL modem, router, switch, firewall and 802.11g wireless access point. Despite some dodgy firmware updates, it’s one of the better single-box router solutions on the market.
