Netgear DG834G review Editors Choice Award

Thursday 16 September 2004, 5:24 PM

Good, but not perfect

A very good ADSL router and wireless access point. I don't use any of the fancy NAT or SPI and have no stability problems. I do have aproblem with its DNS server, which seems not to resolve MX records, but unless you run an MTA this won't concern you.

Verdict

The DG834G combines five network functions in a single box — ADSL modem, router, switch, firewall and 802.11g wireless access point. Despite some dodgy firmware updates, it’s one of the better single-box router solutions on the market.
