Buffalo LinkStation Network Storage Center review

Monday 10 October 2005, 1:10 PM

Excellent simple server solution

Really simple to set up, inexpensive and a doddle to use. I have set mine up as a server (as you can leave it switched on) and the simple configuration page allowed me to set up seperate folders (each configurable as a "drive") so that I have a work files drive, a home drive for me and one for a colleague (password protectable), and a media files drive. Works great, is very quiet and has the added bonus of being a print server. The only downside is that my printer (Epson CX3200) is an all in one and you have to connect it directly to a PC to use the scanning functions.

There is now also FTP access available (so that you can access your files from the internet from anywhere), but I'm yet to try this out.

Really pleased, and a bit of a bargain.
