Netgear WGT624 review

Tuesday 5 September 2006, 12:39 AM

Lousy product with an even worse customer support.

Do not buy this product. The product has numerous problems with cable internet. Had to constantly reboot all the connected equipment (at least twice a day). With DSL, even with Static IP, could not operate on port 80.

Worst of all is customer support. Netgear makes it very difficult to call for customer support. Then there is a 15 minute wait. Then you get a person with very rudimentary knowledge about computers and Internet connectivity. Then no one seems to know how to connect to the 2nd tier technical expert and you have to go through it all over again.

Verdict

Netgear's WGT624 108Mbps wireless firewall router is a good choice for advanced users, but may be too complicated for networking newcomers.
