Sony Ericsson GC79 review Editors Choice Award

Wednesday 19 January 2005, 11:34 PM

Plugged it in and it worked!

I plugged it in to a laptop which even had an internal wireless LAN capability, and still there were no conflicts. I installed the CD and it worked right away, no phone calls, etc. necessary.

Paid £199 at T-Mobile store then saw it on line for half that -- but that's life.

Verdict

The GC79 delivers good ease of use and solid performance over both Wi-Fi and mobile phone networks. Sadly, some of its more exotic features, such as EAP-SIM and fast GPRS can’t be utilised until the cellular infrastructure is upgraded.

£ 250
