Netgear DG824M review

Friday 13 August 2004, 8:26 PM

Excellent -- once we got it working

I'm the 'Anonymous' of March 2004 who like many others had serious problems setting up the DG824M.

The problem was that it dropped the line repeatedly, ever 2 minutes or so -- very annoying.

After a lot of searching tech forums I finally found the answer on a French language site. If you use the setup wizard, one of the settings is wrong.

If you are having this problem, try this:

Log into the Netgear device.

Check the settings.

The Wizard has probably given you these:
PPPoA, VC-Based, 8, 35

Change them to:
PPPoE, LLLC, 8, 35

It should now work perfectly!

Many thanks to 'White_Eagle' on DSL Valley (http://www.dslvalley.com/forum/forum_read.php3?fqID=6257).
