HTC S620 does the business

This is my second HTC Win/Mob and it is a great improvement from my old SPV model. The OS still feels clunky and not as intuitive as it should, but the hardware ticks all the boxes. Screen size and resolutions, the QWERTY keyboard, and the battery life are all perfectly acceptable. The interface is spoilt a little by their attempt at a Blackberry-esque scroll wheel. The HTC version is a flattened edge on the right hand side which you simply brush up and down accordingly. This is not so good as it is difficult to be precise and easily activated accidentally.

Verdict

If you primarily want to handle email on the move, this slim BlackBerry-like Windows Mobile 5.0 smartphone with Direct Push technology is a good option. It has its quirks, though, and isn't suitable for creating or editing longer documents.

Review Although it's missing some features (chiefly HSDPA and GPS), Nokia's E63 is a well-thought-out, ergonomic and affordable smartphone.
