you should spend more money

Well.I bought the scanner on behalf of many very flattering reviews on internet.I was quite disappointed on the performance. The leading feature of six colour scanning did not work at all.It is true I am only refering this to negatives.Nevertheless if there was a difference it was worst than a normal scan!It was like the layers were overlapping.Horrible! The results warried from bad to worse.I hoped there would be some noticable difference with scans of larger format (120mm & 4*) but it was really bad.In BW scans the blacks were just a speck of black.Bad!The speed of the scanner could be compared with a snail on sedatives.I just cannot imagine how could they release a scanner of ''new generation'' with performance as this.Sorry HP!Better luck next time.

Verdict

The HP Scanjet G4050 is a solid scanner that could use a driver overhaul and a better means of handling slides.

So if you upgrade to XP SP3 you can't uninstall Internet Explorer, I'm quite sure I'm having a Deja-vu feeling about MS preventing people from uninstalling Internet Explorer in other Windows products.
