I bought an Epson Perfection 2400 three months ago and am perfectly happy with it. I got it in time for a commemorative book which required scanning some 3,000 images from both photos and prints. The feature to remove the halftone dots from a printed page worked perfectly.

7.9With its high resolution and 48-bit colour depth, the Perfection 2400 Photo should appeal to professionals, but slight imperfections in image quality make it more suited for hobbyists.

So if you upgrade to XP SP3 you can't uninstall Internet Explorer, I'm quite sure I'm having a Deja-vu feeling about MS preventing people from uninstalling Internet Explorer in other Windows products.
