If it works, good quality

We have this machine at work and I have failed time and time again to make it work properly. The software is not compatible with Mac OS X 4.7 which it says it should be with the most recent driver, which is installed. This crashes the machine and when I can get it to work it stops for no reason. When trying to phone the support line you get put through to voice mail continously. My summary?
A very expensive and ugly paperweight.

Verdict

The ScanMaker 8700 work faster than parallel or USB scanners, but operator speed remains a key factor.

So if you upgrade to XP SP3 you can't uninstall Internet Explorer, I'm quite sure I'm having a Deja-vu feeling about MS preventing people from uninstalling Internet Explorer in other Windows products.
