Awesome Navigator (but virus found??)

The Tom Tom GO 910 is awesome right outta the box! Very accurate and laden with features.

Only had one problem when backing up the unit's hard drive as suggested by the install program. My antivirus software discovered two virus on my brand-new unit right out of a sealed box from the factory! They were copy.exe and host.exe (viruses W32/Perlovga.A.1 and TR/Drop.Small.qp/) both trojans according to the virus software. Now, how do trojans find their way into new products??

Other than that mystery, I love the unit. I've since deleted the two files, and have found that they were to have some function to do with autorun, most likely to start the Home software that interfaces with the unit. Others have discovered these files as well on their units. Perhaps Tom Tom will address my concern with the virus issue.

Verdict

The GO 910 performs its core navigation task very competently. The wide-screen format is an improvement, and the software is generally well presented and usable. However, it remains to be seen how much users really want the extra features TomTom has added.
