Navman iCN 720 review

Sunday 11 June 2006, 10:38 PM

Simple yet effective

I purchased this not too long ago and to be honest I have been impressed. However if you're someone who likes to modify everything and loves added features then a TomTom unit would suit you. However if like me you just want to be taken from A to B and want it done with no fuss then this is a great GPS system. The only negative thing is the retail price and the additional £70-100 needed to buy the traffic module which is to be released in mid June!

Verdict

The iCN 720 is a high-quality navigation device, with excellent usability and on-screen information display. Although it's intriguing, we're not convinced that NavPix will have the revolutionary effect that Navman is hoping for.

Featured Talkback

Put simply, what is the compelling reason to pay ~$200 extra for an Eee with Windows XP? A Windows Eee won't come with any useful applications and you'll have to buy anti-virus software to boot. The truth about low cost computing is that nobody really cares whether the machine is running Windows or Linux as long as its cheap, its easy to use and it works.
