Power connector broke after 2 days!!

If you read the other reviews you will see its a common problem. It is caused because the adapter sticks out of the bottom of the unit approx 3 inches maybe more so its very difficult to get under your windscreen in anything like a useful position. This causes stress on the connector and hey presto-either the metal clips bend or the minutes plastic plug breaks. Either way you will have a loose connector. This was changed fairly painlessly by Argos (£149) but I'm now considering buying another as there is so little choice at this price band.

I loaded TomTom onto mind straight away which was more user friendly but had problems with picking up satellites! so would rpefer to use destinator although you have to put up with the lack of postcode search etc.

On the plus side - I found the features useful though -voice recorder etc.

Verdict

This well-priced Windows Mobile-based handheld/GPS combo could prove attractive, if you're prepared to overlook a moderate specification and some issues with the bundled navigation software.

Put simply, what is the compelling reason to pay ~$200 extra for an Eee with Windows XP? A Windows Eee won't come with any useful applications and you'll have to buy anti-virus software to boot. The truth about low cost computing is that nobody really cares whether the machine is running Windows or Linux as long as its cheap, its easy to use and it works.
