O2 xda II review Editors Choice Award

Friday 7 November 2003, 11:40 AM

What the orignal XDA should have been

Having used the xda II for nearly a week, I am pleased -- but realise this is merely what the original should have been. The doubling of processor speed is mostly swallowed up by the additinal demands of the new operating system. Bluetooth integrates perfectly with headsets -- but not well with other devices (e.g. GPS).
Other features should have been there (or worked!) on the original xda. The new design feels slightly bulkier (esp. the case), but soon grows on you. Fewer bugs and frustrations than the original, but still a few niggles...

Verdict

The xda II features a tri-band GSM/GPRS phone, a VGA-resolution digital camera and Bluetooth built in, along with 128MB of RAM, an SDIO-compatible card slot and an improved screen. This makes it one of the best handheld/mobile phone combos around.
