Sony CLIE PEG-UX50 review Editors Choice Award

Monday 16 February 2004, 11:31 AM

All the workings of a PalmOS in device smaller than a Palm PDA.

Only thing missing is a phone built in. I initially dismissed this device thinking it was back to the old Psion days thinking it would be too big and clunky. Oh how wrong was I.

You can view documents in Landscape using the Picsel software that comes with it.

Good points:
-Smaller than Tungsten T3.
-Has built in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
-Keyboard for a PDA such as a Palm will likely cost 50 to 100 pounds depending where you get. You also don't need to carry it about. Granted, the individual keyboards are for speedier typing.
-Wireless card will set you back another small fortune.
-Camera: it has a built-in camera. Anyone serious about the photos would own a digital camera, so the one that comes with it is good enough.
-It really does look cool! It's a GADGET!

Bad points
-Expensive
-You don't get the Documents To Go bundle like the latest Palm handhelds Tungsten E and T3.
Possibly short on memory, but can be expanded with SD stick.
-screen size is a tad small
