NavMan GPS 3400 Voice review

Saturday 3 January 2004, 3:47 PM

Excellent, accurate and good value for money.

I was a little unsure about this product, but after doing some extensive research I took the plunge.

How glad I am that I did!

The system is very accurate and operates reliably (so far anyway).

After a few technical 'hic-ups' at the start, which were resolved effortlessly and amazingly fast by the technical support Navman provides I have found this system to be an invaluable tool and would not want to be without it.

The system obtains a good satellite fix quickly both when operating from a cold and warm start-up. Once this fix is acheived the lock is very good.

The routes that the system provides are direct and can be suprisingly faster than those routes you may already know.

When travelling in an area you do not know though, it always comes up trumps.

I would definetely recommend this to anyone who wants a good navigation system without the cost of a fully installed system.

Verdict

If you own an iPAQ and you want to know where you are and where you’re going, this upgraded GPS navigation solution -- which supports voice instructions, dynamic routing and street-level mapping -- is well worth considering.
